I wasn't about to try who knows how many combinations of flags for the compression. I thought there was something wrong with my recompression attempts, so I manually tried all 22 compression levels for ztsd, but that none of them worked. It appeared to be correct too, because in a sea of 0s that specific byte was populated and with the correct values too. I edited the byte at 0001EF91-as archived posts on Zero have said that location is the difficulty flag. I spent like 2 hours trying to figure this out, basically got it all, but it still doesnt work. Originally posted by □□□□□:Save files are compressed with zstd, you can use the command-line utility to decompress and recompress them. I would love some help and not just the solution I am genuinely interested into the process of figuring out how a line and offset matches with what variable in the game.įor now I think my best option would be to create a fresh save game for each difficulty setting, save as soon as the game makes it possible and compare the files to see which lines values differs from one file to the other. My first guess would be that savedata.dat is the one that needs to be edited but for now I don't know how to find which line encodes the difficulty in this mess : %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\FALCOM\Zero\savedata.dat %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\FALCOM\Zero\messagelog.dat %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\FALCOM\Zero\info.txt %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\FALCOM\Zero\icon0.png The folder contains a list of subfolders, 1 for each save slot. I think the idea is the same as in previous trails games (specifically the SKY series) : edit with an hexa editor the save files. I have not find a quick solution and I like digging. I am looking for a way to change the difficulty without restarting an entire run.
